eX² Technology Selected to Advance Wireless Connectivity in Yuma County, Arizona to Support Water Conservation Efforts
Omaha, Neb., March 18, 2025 – eX² Technology, a Vivacity company and single source solution for those seeking to build, scale or future proof their communications infrastructure, announces today it has been selected to construct a next-generation wireless infrastructure project in Yuma County, Ariz. As currently designed, eX² Technology will construct 27 tower structures across the County to advance water conservation and precision agriculture efforts.
Yuma County ranks in the top 1/10th of one percent of all U.S. counties in agricultural production. With 190,000 acres of cropland, of which 94% is irrigated, agriculture brings $3.2 billion annually to Yuma County. Through this project, farms in all six of Yuma County’s irrigation districts will have access to field-level broadband services.
“This infrastructure will be a catalyst for enabling smart irrigation systems, including remote soil sensing, automation and mechanization, as well as socio-economic growth,” said Ian McGaughey, Yuma County Administrator. “It will position Yuma County as a leader in agricultural technology and connectivity for years to come.”
During a comprehensive procurement process, Yuma County sought a trusted partner to modernize its communications network, aiming to build the foundation for high-speed wireless connectivity that empowers its farmers with affordable, reliable and scalable connectivity. The wireless infrastructure is necessary to support key initiatives and industries such as precision agriculture, water resource management and sustainability, as well as advanced connectivity services for residents and businesses.
“eX² Technology is honored to have been selected by Yuma County to create the transformative wireless infrastructure that connects farmers and communities while supporting other Yuma County industries,” said Christopher Rabii, CEO, Vivacity Infrastructure Group. “Through our partnership, we will deliver a solution that helps address the needs of rural and urban areas, paving the way for economic expansion and technological advancement.”
Yuma County was awarded a $6 million State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds of the American Rescue Plan Act grant from the Governor’s Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting which will help fund the wireless infrastructure installation project.
In a collaborative effort, eX² Technology will be partnering Terra Consulting Group, also a Vivacity company, to execute the project. This partnership combines eX²’s deep expertise in fiber optic infrastructure solutions with Terra’s specialized capabilities in wireless site design and infrastructure development.
