Project Accountant - Omaha, NE

Position Summary

eX² Technology is seeking a detail-oriented accounting/finance professional to join our team as a Project Accountant. Our ideal candidate enjoys diving into details and can collaborate easily with our internal teams and customers to ensure project accounting tasks are completed timely and efficiently. Day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation and maintenance of monthly forecasts, budgets, contract logs and work-in-progress schedules and/or reports. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop a keen understanding of project contracts and project progress to completion

  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of monthly forecasts, budgets, contract log and work-in-progress schedules and/or reports

  • Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and other transactions

  • Timely execute project billings via collaboration with internal teams and customers to generate accurate invoices and post to the general ledger

  • Verify billing data, including checking for errors and making necessary corrections

  • Administer and reconcile three-way match of invoices, purchase orders, and bill of materials related to tracking project inventory and posting material job costs

  • Investigate and resolve billing disputes by communicating with customers directly or working with other departments to gather information and find solutions

  • Provide effective communication with customers on past-due payment reminders

  • Assist with financial audits

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • Two or more years of accounting experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and private industry

  • Experience with Acumatica a plus

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Critical thinking with a strategic approach to problem-solving

  • Extreme sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and to constantly re-prioritize

  • Meticulous attention to detail in a complex process

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will work in a semi-quiet office environment and on customer sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents.  Communicates effectively in oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
