Outside Plant (OSP) Inspector - Holbrook, Show Low or Snowflake, AZ
Position Summary
eX² Technology is seeking an Outside Plant (OSP) Inspector to work with field crews to gather data about daily construction progress and ensure conformance with project plans, specifications and other applicable manuals. As an OSP Inspector, you will be responsible for verifying contractors follow engineered designs during construction, escalating deficiencies to the assigned Project Manager and using Arc Field Maps to collect data via a tablet.

Roles & Responsibilities
Coordinates directly with contractors and other field inspection staff to ensure all project activities are monitored
Maintains accurate project documentation of all in-field deliverables through the construction lifecycle
Ensures materials delivered to project site meet specifications and are placed in accordance with standard specifications
Inspects various OSP structure construction
Inspects various OSP device installations
Inspects completed items and determines contract pay quantities
Performs basic contract administrative functions for OSP projects
Conducts materials sampling and testing
Works closely with Project Managers to ensure client satisfaction
Reads and comprehends contract documents
Interprets blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams for proper installation
Participates in the testing of OSP equipment using computer-based software and a variety of testing applications
Observes and ensures onsite system acceptance test procedures are executed in accordance with plans
Documents installation and testing failures, including cause of problem, corrective measures taken, replacement parts used, etc. using standard Microsoft Office programs
Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials and equipment
Solves in-field problems and consults Engineering team as necessary
Job Requirements
Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Highly motivated individual with strong work ethic and attention to detail
Knowledge of electronics and electrical wiring theory, principles and practices
Knowledge of electronic and electrical safety standards and National Electric Code
Knowledge of copper and fiber optic installation standards and best practices for OSP applications
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, technical equipment installation manuals and other documents
Must be able to multitask, problem solve and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively report and document technical information
Ability to effectively manage tasks and deadlines
Ability to communicate and interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure
OSP Inspector or Construction Experience preferred
Experience with Esri ArcGIS preferred
OSHA certification preferred
Physical Requirements
The incumbent will be required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear regularly while performing the duties of this job. The incumbent will be required to walk daily on construction sites in rough terrain and climb ladders and facilities under construction. The incumbent will be required to stand for long periods of time on occasion. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. with assistance. Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may work at construction sites, where there is moderate to occasional great noise levels.
