Fiber Designer - Atlanta/Chicago/Omaha or remote
Position Summary
eX² Technology is seeking a Fiber Designer who is skilled in ESRI and/or CAD-based fiber management software and project tools such as ArcGIS/FM or 3GISLive for managing all OSP design information to join our team. As a Fiber Designer, you will design and develop accurate layouts for OSP fiber designs, incorporating all design specifications, permitting ordinances, design inputs and field notes.

Roles & Responsibilities
Generate bills of materials, splice sheets and other supporting documentation for the design
Review completed designs for errors and efficiency
Design ISP patch panel diagrams and cable rack layouts
Write supporting documents, instruction manuals and SOWs
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to multitask, work on multiple projects simultaneously and have experience in working with a fast-paced engineering team in a production environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong sense of methodology, processes and metrics
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and ESRI (or other fiber design tools) is required
High integrity and work ethic
Telecommunications fiber network experience is desired
Job Requirements
Education
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years experience in OSP Fiber Optic or related design
Experience in various GIS mapping software and fiber management software is required. AutoCAD experience is a plus
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and other documents
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Physical Requirements

The incumbent is occasionally required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
