Contracts Administrator - Chicago, IL, Omaha, NE or Remote

Position Summary

eX² Technology is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join our team who is skilled in developing and managing business contracts with subcontractors and consultants. As a Contracts Administrator, you will develop contract documents, analyze potential risks involved with certain contract agreements and help employees and leadership better understand the information outlined in the contracts. Our ideal candidate will ensure all contracts abide by local and federal laws and will liaise with and support the Project Manager and Contracts Manager to ensure the project is executed safely and properly.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Takes sufficient steps to minimize project risks

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for vendors and subcontractors

  • Manages subcontractor and vendor performance against contract terms and conditions

  • Manages subcontractor and vendor invoice processing and verification

  • Manages document control to include submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, meeting agenda/minutes, etc.

  • Assists with obtaining pricing from subcontractors to include charge orders

  • Assists with managing correspondence to/from subcontractors and vendors

  • Assists with project closeout

  • Participates in internal and external project meetings

  • Ensures project members use the contract correctly

  • Works with customer, Project Manager and Safety Manager to ensure a robust safety program is place.  Proactively works with customer, subcontractors, vendors and project team to prevent accidents and continuously improve safety performance.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, engineering, construction management, or related studies is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Must have detailed understanding of contractual requirements and the contracting process, including terms and conditions to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations

  • Fundamental knowledge of construction techniques, building materials, standards and equipment

  • Knowledge of telecommunications and construction industries, including the ability to read drawings and understand the construction process

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, financial reports and technical documents

  • Ability to apply arithmetic concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions to real scenarios

  • Basic understanding of purchasing and supply chain procedures

  • Proficiency in common office applications

  • Good understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and occupational, safety and environmental regulations and law

  • Time management and problem-solving skills

  • Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts

  • Verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
